Don’t let minor setbacks become permanent pathways. By this, I mean that we shouldn’t ever stop pushing no matter what threatens to put up barriers and obstacles in our path. Calm waves never made for a skilled sailor, and I don’t care how much Dramamine it takes, but I’m here to tell you that you can conquer that ocean and navigate your journey to its true destination. There are always going to be missteps and failures, that is life, but the determined people of the world don’t allow one little mistake to become their whole destiny. The saying “when one door closes, another one opens” exists for a reason, and I don’t care if you have to start busting down back doors (not an Only Fans reference), you will reach your destination in one form or another.
The road to success is never a straight and linear path. It’s often riddled with potholes, wrong turns, peaks and valleys, plateaus, rugged terrain, and a whole other slew of mitigating factors. You got a flat tire? Tough titties, learn to change it. You’ve never changed a tire before? Guess what, YouTube exists and so does asking for help. Asking for assistance gives you anxiety? Bite the bullet and take solace in knowing everyone deals with anxiety in one facet or another and letting it inhibit your growth or impeding your pathway is not an excuse. Yeah, this might seem like taking tough love to the extremes, but I just so want everyone to keep trying to succeed and reach their full potential. I love rooting for people and watching them leap over hurdles and bounds to make their dreams a reality.
When you sit down to watch a movie, you’re rooting for the protagonist to come out on top no matter what hardships come their way. Every movie had conflicts and resolutions throughout the entirety of the plot, because without any plights for the character to go through, the film would be a complete snooze fest. People love to root for the underdog, but we also admonish the lazy who sit back and expect things to be handed to them and then complain when their life doesn’t turn out how they envisioned. Don’t be the character people are rooting for to fail, just be a good person and you will have plenty of fans rooting for your triumph.
If I stopped trying at every little thing that went wrong in my life, I probably wouldn’t be here today because I would be so miserable. Instead, I have worked hard to conquer my demons and fight passed whatever threatened to hold me back in order to achieve success. Sure, I have lost in life and in the cage, and brutally so at that. But I came back and pushed harder to try again. Now I am out here living my best life and chasing my dreams with the absolute love of my life by my side because I never let a setback determine my fate.
Everybody is hurting at a point in their life from one thing or another, and man, it can zap all the strength out of us to clamber out from the holes we get buried in as the dirt keeps piling high. But please, I beg of you, keep trying to excavate that dirt until you’re free. No growth without the rain and whenever we think we are being punished is the possibility of great success and happiness right around the corner. Just keep pushing. Permanence is an illusion; we were made to change our course as the wind changes its direction with a new gust that blows on through.
